ASIAN seasoning is a spice mix that adds the flavors of the East to a variety of dishes. It is versatile and has a careful and traditional combination of ingredients in exact proportions to create a complex taste that involves the entire palate. This blend of five spices, extensively used in Chinese cooking, brings hot, spicy and sweet flavors to fried and roasted meats, as well as spice cakes and cookies.

ASIAN is a blend of spices inspired by ancient Chinese cuisine. With the expansion of Chinese culture, this seasoning known as "Chinese 5 Spices" or "5 Chinese Spices" is recognized and used worldwide.

According to experts, it is named because it contains five spices in its composition, a number that is actually related to the five elements: wood, fire, earth, metal and water. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, these elements manifest themselves in various parts of the human anatomy and it is believed that their imbalance are the cause of diseases.

Several herbs and spices have been used for millennia to restore balance to these five elements. There are those who claim that the millennial "Chinese 5 Spices" gets its name because in its composition it combines the five main flavors of yin and yang balance for food: sweet, sour, spicy, bitter and salty.

Although most of the ingredients used in this seasoning are common to westerners, sichuan pepper with its slightly citrus flavor is less common. It is a popular spice in Asia where it is known by many different names. In China, it is known as Huajiao, in Japan, passes Sansho and in Nepal is called Timur.

ASIAN "Chinese 5 Spices" is used in a variety of roast and braised meat dishes. It is the main seasoning of the famous Char Siu (grilled pork). Rub dry seasoning in the meats before grilling, baking or braising and wait for the compliments.

INGREDIENTS: Star anise, fennel, cinnamon, clove, sichuan pepper.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE: Scrub a generous amount of the mix into the meat of your choice and keep it in a closed container in the refrigerator for 4 to 24 hours before baking or grilling.
